Captivating Capiz: The Profile

The “Captivating Capiz” is located in Panay Island which is situated in the hinterlands of Visayan Sea.  The province runs on the northern coastal area of Nothern Panay Island which she shared it with her twin, Province the of Aklan.   Its neighboring provinces are the Iloilo, Antique and Aklan in which they share the entire Panay Island.  The province coast is flat and irrregular which is ideal for beach resorts.  It also have extensive swamps and marshlands where it gets its major resources, the seafoods.  The geography of Capiz is extended towards the southwest in the mountainous interior of Panay Island.  

 It is composed of 16 municipalities namely Cuartero, Dao, Dumalag, Dumarao,  Ivisan, Jamindan, Maayon, Mambusao, Panay, Panitan, Pontevedra, Pilar, Pres. Roxas, Sapian, Sigma and Tapaz   and one city which is the Roxas City.   Captivating Capiz is politically divided into two(2) districts, the first district is spreaheded by Cong. Antonio Del Rosario and the second district is being lead by Cong. Fredinel Castro.  The province is governed by Gov. Victor Tangco Sr.  The major dialect in this province is Hiligaynon (Ilonggo), and Tagalog as a the second language.  Capiz pride are its beaches, homemade products and seafoods.
