Charice Pempengco Meets Mariah Carey

October 14, 2008

Let’s talk about big dreams, like dreaming of meeting your ultimate idols and performing with them.  Moving your dream a notch higher and dream of being interviewed by the world’s famous talkshow host and being heard all over the world.  And what if these dreams are slowly unfolding before your very eyes.  This is what is happening to Charice Pempengco, a little girl with a big voice.  One of the world’s most talented kid.  She starts with a humble beginning as a small-time amateur singer, then slowly rising as international singing sensation performing with the very best of the world.  Charice is being now recognized not only in the Philippines but also in the international music scene.  Big names in the music industry like Josh Groban, David Foster, Celine Dion, Andrea Botticelli, just to name a few, was impressed of her talent.  She’s the only Filipino ever invited twice on the most watched talk show in the world The Oprah Winfrey Show, and audience from Philippines, Korea, London, USA and some other part of the world rise on thier feet to giver a standing ovation to her extraordinary talent.

Last Saturday (October 11, 2008) another of Charice’s dream was fulfilled.  She did meet one of ther ultimate idol, the singing superstar Mariah Carey on the Wynn’s Hotel for the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation’s Grand Slam for Children benefit concert in Las Vegas where she took again the limelight.  Mariah Cary is one of Charice’s inspiration in singing, even as a kid she’d used to imitate the international star.  According to some interviews, it is one of Charice greatest dream to sing with Mariah.

Mariah was as well impressed with Charice talent and promise that one day they could sing together.  That’s another milestone for the young Filipina singer, after her stunning duet performance with Andrea Botticelli and Celine Dion.  Charice Pempengco makes Filipino proud.  According to David Foster “Philippines might be a great country because Charice is a great kid.”

Thank you Charice, you make us proud.

Watch out the future Charice Pempengco, Amy Nobleza.

Pinoy Dream Academy Little Dreamer Amy Nobleza: The Next Charice Pempengco

October 13, 2008

Being the champion is not the ticket to stardom or being second placer means you are out of the limelight.  This was proven a many times over by many successful people in many fields.  One, is the rising international singing sensation Charice Pempengco and Christian Bautista who had been just runner-ups in most of the contest they joined yet they manage to shine, brighter and shiner than the winner.  I do believe that same fate will fall upon Amy Nobleza (Ana Mae Libot in real life) the 2nd Placer in the recently concluded Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 – Little Dreamer.

Amy is a 6-year old girl from Las Pinas City, a little girl with a very powerful voice.  I was really amazed with her talent when I saw her singing Halik (by Aegis) during the Little Dreamer 7th performance night where she was awarded Outstanding Little Dream. Amy does not only sing she can perform as well.  She’s a total performer, a little “birit” queen.  Amy got very good vocal quality and have cool moves on stage.  She proved her total performer quality when she impersonate the dance moves and singing style of Tina Turner during her gala performance at the Pinoy Dream Academy where she sang What’s Love Got To do With It by Tina Turner.  The girl is simply amazing performer; I’d never seen a 6-years old sing like her not even my favorite Connie Talbot.

According some showbiz Buzz, Ellen of The Ellen Degeneres Show is having a plan to invite Amy Nobleza as guest on her show.  This is the same show that started the international stardom of Charice Pempengo after being discovered on Youtube.  Ellen Degeneres was impressed after seeing the Amy’s performance of What’s Love Got To do With It on Youtube.

Amy Nobleza is known for her impressive interpretation of hits like I Am Telling You, Greatest Love of All, Laguna, Sabi Mo, Diamonds are Forever, One Moment in Time, Someone’s Waiting for You, What’s Love Got to Do With It, Halik, and Saving All My Love For You.

According to many music industry people, Amy Nobleza has a strong tendency of becoming the Charice Pempengco.  She got the talent that could make the world notice, just like Charice.
